Mother-Daughter Weekend at Skyland Camp for Girls was featured in a recent Charlotte Parent Magazine article and highlighted Mary Elizabeth Trent, who attended with her daughter, Maddy.
“‘Being outside in this beautiful environment was such a nurturing and empowering experience,’ she says, ‘You feel like you are transported to another world.’ Passed down by generations of women…the camp was ignited with feminine power and positive encouragement in an environment that promoted courage, grit and compassion.”
Launched in 2011, Mother-Daughter Weekend provides opportunities for girls and moms (or grandmas, aunts or other super-cool women in a girl’s life) to connect in unique and meaningful ways. This type of program is a terrific opportunity to introduce a young girl to the concept of overnight camp … and for moms to better understand the culture and environment of the camp and facilities.
Bob Ditter, child and family therapist and a leading expert in the camp industry says it well: “The greatest aspect of family camp is the unique opportunities families have to play together. Given how busy, stressed and technologically-distracted family members can be, family camp offers an opportunity to connect through fun and play.”
Mother-Daughter Weekend at Skyland Camp for Girls is scheduled for June 10-12, 2015. We hope to see you there!
